Job Summary: Insparisk LLC is looking for an elevator inspector to begin right away. As a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI), you will be responsible for inspecting elevator and escalator systems to ensure they meet safety standards and regulatory compliance. This position will be full-time for the next 3 months and then will have some variations in the number of hours the inspector will work. There will be consistent work throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and periodic inspections of elevators, escalators, and other vertical transport systems.
- Evaluate equipment to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Identify and document deficiencies or violations, issuing inspection reports and recommendations for corrective action.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to maintain QEI credentials and enhance skills.
Qualifications:
- Valid QEI certification from an accredited certifying organization (QEITF, NAESA, NAEC)
- Prior experience in elevator installation, maintenance, or inspection is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator codes and standards (such as ANSI A17.1/ASME A17.7 and relevant local codes).
Working Conditions:
- Primarily field-based inspections in various locations, primarily in Albany and Upstate surrounding area
- May require working in elevated areas or confined spaces.
- Travel is necessary and varies depending on the location of job sites.
Salary:
- $66,000 -$70,000 annual salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, and potential benefits including health insurance and retirement plans.

The North Dakota State Electrical Board will be hiring a full-time non-temporary elevator mechanic inspector for the State of North Dakota. Successful applicants may also need to work in assigned areas across the state.
Minimum qualifications: ASME QE-1 certification, a high school graduate with elevator trade school degree. A licensed Elevator Mechanic or capable of attaining a North Dakota elevator mechanics license within a specified timeline. Must have a firm knowledge of ASME, ASSP, ANSI, ASCE Elevator Codes and Safety Standards and the North Dakota Laws, Rules and Wiring Standards/Elevator Codes. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the elevator industry. Ability to be a problem solver with excellent interpersonal, written and oral skills. Ability to learn computer systems, read and understand schematics and blueprints. Must be a self-starter committed to time management, highly motivated, teamwork, high quality customer service and be able to multi-task projects. Flexible scheduling (such as working nights and weekends) and overnight travel are required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and scaffolds, and follow department’s safety procedures. Insparisk is an Inspection, Testing, and Certification services company that provides a range of inspection services, most notably Boiler and Elevator inspections, to clients nationwide. We have an immediate need for an Elevator Inspector to conduct part-time inspections in Baltimore, MD.
Summary:
The elevator inspector is responsible for traveling to predetermined site locations to perform inspections of new and existing conveyance equipment, including elevators, escalators, vertical platform lifts, and dumb waiters to ensure compliance with standard building and safety codes. For this position, the inspector will primarily be responsible for witnessing Cat1 and Cat5 elevator inspections and performing periodic (semi-annual) inspections in a timely fashion, on either a part time or full-time basis, and within budget.
