Job Summary:
We are seeking a part-time inspector to work 2-3 days a week. As an Elevator Inspector at Reliant, you will perform inspections of elevators, escalators, lifts, and other conveyances to ensure compliance with safety codes, regulations, and industry standards. You will be responsible for accurate documentation, professional/clear communication with office staff, and promoting safety and excellence in all inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine annual inspections of elevators, escalators, and related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, including ASME A17.1/CSA B44 and local regulations.
- Identify and report safety hazards, deficiencies, and violations.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports
- Consult with office staff regarding inspection findings.
- Stay up to date on changes in codes, safety standards, and inspection best practices.
- Maintain inspection schedules and meet deadlines efficiently.
Requirements:
- Current certification as a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in elevator inspection or a related field (elevator technician, maintenance, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of national elevator codes and safety standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage fieldwork efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license, background check, and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications in elevator safety or specialty equipment inspections.
- Familiarity with digital inspection tools and reporting software.

Insparisk is an Inspection, Testing, and Certification services company that provides a range of inspection services, most notably Boiler and Elevator inspections, to clients nationwide. We have an immediate need for an Elevator Inspector to conduct part-time inspections in Baltimore, MD.
Summary:
The elevator inspector is responsible for traveling to predetermined site locations to perform inspections of new and existing conveyance equipment, including elevators, escalators, vertical platform lifts, and dumb waiters to ensure compliance with standard building and safety codes. For this position, the inspector will primarily be responsible for witnessing Cat1 and Cat5 elevator inspections and performing periodic (semi-annual) inspections in a timely fashion, on either a part time or full-time basis, and within budget. They will also be required to produce a corresponding report for each inspection, in accordance with Insparisk and Maryland state guidelines.
Responsibilities:

- Travel to client sites in Maryland and liaison with facilities management personnel.

Physical Requirements:

Work Environment:
A majority of the employee’s time will be spent in the field, inspecting conveyance equipment, but a small portion of the time will be spent at a home office, producing reports. Insparisk is a remote company and, as such, employees are expected to maintain the equipment needed to work from home. Inspection sites may be dirty or cluttered with equipment or debris, and the employee may be required to climb ladders, stairs, or move in tight spaces. The employee must adhere to safety requirements, as dictated by Insparisk’s safety policy.
